Card payments stop at your limit
The Perim current account is being built to decline card payments that would take you over a monthly merchant or category limit. Using a different shopping app or website would not remove the limit from your Perim card.
Raising a limit waits until next month
You choose your limits before committing. You can lower them during the month. Increasing them or switching them off waits until the next month.
Moving money to yourself takes 24 hours
Transfers to your own accounts elsewhere have a cooling-off period. You can cancel a waiting transfer, but you cannot accelerate it. Bills and payments to other people are outside this specific rule. Read the cooling-off rules.
Cash withdrawals have limits too
A separate monthly cash-withdrawal limit is part of the planned account, so taking money out at an ATM is covered by the decisions you make in advance.
Deleting the app does not delete your limits
These controls sit on the account. Deleting or reinstalling the app does not reset a committed limit or bypass a transfer’s cooling-off period.
Know what is covered
These are planned controls for money and payments through Perim. They cannot control funds already held elsewhere or purchases made using another bank’s card. We will publish supported payment types, merchant matching, transfer identification and essential-access exceptions before launch.
Optional iPhone blocking
We are also privately testing connected-account budgeting and iPhone app and website blocking. These device controls are separate from the planned current account. Read the private-test protection guide.
