Who provides your account
The Perim current account and card are provided by Griffin Bank Ltd, a UK bank. Perim is the app and brand you interact with; Griffin holds your money and issues the account under its banking licence. Perim is not itself a bank.
Who regulates it
Griffin Bank Ltd is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Prudential Regulation Authority. You can check this on the Financial Services Register.
How your money is protected
Eligible deposits held with Griffin Bank Ltd are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), the UK's statutory deposit guarantee scheme. The FSCS protects up to £85,000 per eligible person, per banking authorisation, if the bank were to fail.
- The limit applies across all deposits you hold with the same banking authorisation, not per account.
- Your money is held with the bank, not with Perim. It is not used to fund Perim's business.
- More detail is available at fscs.org.uk.
What Perim does and does not do
Perim lets you set your own monthly limits on categories and merchants, decline payments that go over them, and sweep what you don't spend into savings. Perim does not provide debt counselling, regulated debt advice, or investment advice.
If you are struggling with money or with gambling, free and confidential help is available from MoneyHelper, National Debtline, and GamCare.
